The Beasts

One of our top films at VIFF 2022. 

A French couple longing for an ideal life style, where they can farm ecologically are living in the mountains of Galicia in a rural village. They also restore old houses for repopulation and try to get along with their neighbours. However, 2 rough peasant neighbours (brothers) resent their presence in this rural village where most of the villages and especially the brothers would like to have the Wind Turbine Projects scattered in the area take over more of the farmlands in the area and sell out. The peasant brothers are a troubled family and begin to disrupt the lives of the French Couple to the point of violence. The film is well acted, beautifully  shot, and with many twists and turns that hold the audience in suspense knowing that something terrible will happen .
