WOW.
I’d suggest that Viggo Mortensen should not direct another movie. He’s set the bar too high with his award worthy directorial debut. Seriously, what a wonderful film. He also wrote it and plays a major role. Lance Hendriksen’s performance is terrific. I call myself a “grumpyoldman”, but he’s miles ahead of me. I have a new role model now. In truth, Willis is not just a “grumpyoldman”, he is actually a very bitter, nasty bigot and homophobe, spouting not-stop insensitive and derogatory comments loudly and indiscriminately. He’s a very sad old bugger and his increasing memory loss just exacerbates it all.
