Capsule Review “Solar Eclipse” (International – Morality Plays)

A beautifully shot, short film about one’s moral compass, through the actions of both adolescents and adults.

I liked this film from the opening scene till the end. The filmmaker understands how to compose a frame that depicts the perspective of an adolescent who is interested in capturing the phenomena of a solar eclipse. Photography is used in the film, in a way that subconsciously puts the audience behind Saghi’s (the main character) point of view. Although chance plays an integral role in this film, what makes the twist of the story more interesting is not the differences between the world of adults and teenagers, but their similarities.”
