The Vancouver Foreign Film Society was founded in 2014 by friends who despaired over the disappearance of foreign films produced outside North America
- Our intention is to screen foreign feature films that have few or no commercial screenings in Vancouver cinemas.
- Many of our films are multi award winners and are shown in the original version with English subtitles
- We aim to entertain and to foster an appreciation and understanding of different cultures through the eyes of these outstanding film makers around the world
- Less than 5% of foreign language films produced outside North America each year are screened in our local theatres.

What We Offer
- An opportunity to see many international and foreign films, that rarely get a commercial run in Vancouver or don’t come back after a festival
- Monthly screenings co-presented at Vancouver International Film Centre
- Monthly private club·screenings by invitation at various venues
- Promotions for many local partnered film festivals including VIFF
- An opportunity to engage in discussion with other attendees, participate in Q&A’s about the films, or have discussions through our meetup groups or via social media
